Center for Workforce Development



East Central College Adult Education and Literacy classes are offered in several communities throughout the area to teach basic reading, math and writing skills and help prepare people to take the high school equivalency test. Free day and evening classes are available throughout the year.

Summer 2014 - Day Schedule


Sullivan - ECC Sullivan Site

11 North Clark Street: Monday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

                                   Tuesday & Wednesday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.


Union - ECC Training Center

Prairie Dell Road at U.S. Highway 50: Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.


Washington - Missouri Career Center

1108 Washington Square: Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.


Summer 2014 - Evening Schedule


Pacific - Tri-County Community Senior Center

800 West Union: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.


Washington - Missouri Career Center

1108 Washington Square: Tuesday & Thursday, 5 - 8:30 p.m.



The free classes allow people to:


  • Start at their own level and work at their own pace.
  • Prepare for the high school equivalency test
  • Improve academic skills in reading, writing, language and math
  • Transition to post-secondary education
  • Increase work readiness skills
