Precision Machining Technology




The Precision Machining Program is one of 30 technical education programs offered through East Central College.  The Precision Machining program offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree and a Certificate of Achievement taught in conjunction with the region’s extensive machine tool industry.  The curriculum centers on “hands on” learning while in our expanded professional CNC  lab and Machine Tool lab are taught by q qualified Machinist and instructors.



The program is located at the ECC Washington and Four Rivers Career Center site with up to date Computer Numerical Control machines and up to date Manual mills and lathes.  Students earning an AAS degree will also study advanced programming Cad and Computer Aided Manufacturing techniques. Students have an opportunity to earn industry recognized NIMS credentials and the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).

 

 

Program Mission Statement:

East Central College Precision Machining Program is a career-based education/skill learning format for students planning a serious future as a professional Machinist. As one of the technical education programs in a community college venue, we will provide affordable, quality training by qualified instructors. Since the Machining Industry is a dynamic field, the program will continuously update and revise curriculum, training methods, equipment and staff to keep our students the choice of regional employers.

 

 

Program Admission Requirements:

  • Completed an Application for Admission to East Central College or have already been admitted the college.
  • Completed an Application for Admission to the Precision Machining Program.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Be prepared to take  Math, or a higher level Math course
  • Have reading skills  capable of entering EN1223 English Comp I
