If inclement weather conditions require cancellation of classes or if classes will meet on the Snow Schedule, announcements will be made on the radio and television stations listed below. The information will also be posted on the ECC website, Facebook page and the college phone system (636-583-5195).
Classes will be cancelled only in cases of hazardous road conditions, usually due to heavy snow or ice accumulation. The decision to cancel classes or utilize the snow schedule at the ECC locations in Rolla could be different than decisions made regarding ECC classes held at the main campus in Union or satellite locations in Sullivan, Warrenton and Washington. In some instances, evening classes may be cancelled although day classes were held.
ECC strives to make a decision regarding cancellations or late starts no later than 5:30 a.m. However, weather conditions (such as a late-arriving storm) may dictate a later decision and students should check the various media before leaving for campus.
In the event that snow or ice prevents East Central College from opening on time in the morning, but roads are expected to be passable later in the morning, the college may elect to use a Snow Schedule.
A snow schedule means the college will open later than usual, 9:15 a.m. for non-teaching staff (except maintenance), 9:30 a.m. for faculty and students. The snow schedule will be implemented as follows:
When ECC is on a snow schedule, all classes scheduled to start and end before 9:30 a.m.
will be cancelled. All other classes will meet for a shortened time
beginning at 9:30 a.m. or meet as scheduled.

Road and weather conditions throughout the broad geographic region served by the college vary. Students should use common sense in making a decision to travel to the location of their classes. If the college is open, students are responsible for work missed in their classes. Students should use the contact information provided in the course syllabi to advise faculty of their absence.
