Dr. Bill Cunningham, East Central College associate professor of sociology, has been named a 2011 recipient of an Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. Cunningham has taught at ECC since 1993.

District Staff

For the 2011-12 academic year, the East Central College District has a total faculty of 251. Of the total faculty, 76 are full-time and 175 are part-time (adjunct) faculty members. The full-time faculty consists of five full professors, nine associate professors, 11 assistant professors and 51 instructors. All of the District’s full-time faculty members have a master’s degree or its equivalent or a bachelor’s degree in a specialized career field. Approximately 22 of the full-time faculty members hold doctorate or terminal degrees in their respective fields. The District does not have a tenure-track program and the rate of turnover among the faculty is approximately 1.3%.

As of December 1, 2011 there were 135 other employees in full-time administrative, clerical or professional positions and 35 other part-time employees.
