Not everyone who attends East Central College receives a diploma, but we hear many people say, "I would not be where I am today if it had not been for ECC". If you have attended a class at East Central College, you are invited to be a part of the ECC Alumni Association.

East Central College's Alumni program is open to any former ECC student. The program provides opportunities for fun and fellowship for alumni. Several fundraisers each year are used to support an annual scholarship along with various enrichment activities on campus.

Where Would I Be Without East Central College?

I opted not to attend college after high school. Not being all that academic, I wanted to earn money, so I took a job as a typist in the insurance industry. After a few months of typing, I decided I needed a promotion. Surprisingly, my boss agreed, and I was given a job that required me to stretch beyond my comfort zone. I loved learning and applying new skills on the job.

Jeanne GladdenI soon regretted my decision not to attend college and believed that door was permanently closed for me. Upon moving to Washington, I discovered East Central College. “What if I just took a night class here and there?” I wondered. In 1974, I enrolled in my first college class, Art Appreciation. It was an evening class with Larry Pogue. I worked hard, learned some cool things and earned an A. I continued to work full time while taking evening classes through 1982. I transferred to Maryville University Week-End College, completed a Bachelor's Degree in Management, and went on to grad school.

Being an adult student at ECC positioned me for a career in Human Resources. It gave me the courage and skill set to help adults stretch beyond their comfort zones and grow beyond their self-imposed limitations in the workplace.

I don't know where I would be without East Central College, but I know I am where I am because of ECC.
