What if my work was lost due to a technical issue?
Lost work due to technical issues is rare, but can hapen.
It is important to take any possible precautions due to the possibility of a technical issue. Moodle quizzes and discussion boards are the online activities most prone to technical issues due to the fact that you are often entering information directly in Moodle. Here are some examples. If you have a series of lengthy discussion boards posts you need to add, consider writing them in a word processor and then pasting them into Moodle. This way if your internet connection to Moodle is interrupted your content is not lost. If you are working on a Moodle quiz, save the quiz using the Moodle quiz save option-just as you would save a Word document or other computer based project.
It is up to your instructor to decide whether technical issues merit letting you re-take a quiz, turn in a late assignment, etc…Instructors will be notified of Moodle system issues-but the issue may be with your internet connection, weather related, or with your computer hardware, etc…Many instructors give you a window of time to complete online activities. Even if you encounter a problem you should have sufficient time to have it resolved and complete the activity in many cases. The key is dealing with issues when they first arise and not waiting till the last minute. |
