Articles

How do I find articles using EBSCOhost?

Start at the Library home page, choose Find an Article, in the right hand column choose EBSCOhost, choose EBSCOhost web.  The next page lists subsets within EBSCOhost.  For most searching I would recommend using Academic Search Elite.  On the basic search page enter your search terms and WAIT before you click submit, check the box for full-text.  This will limit your results to only articles that are completely online.  The list of article titles you get are in chronological order, the newest ones are first.  To view the entire article click on the link that says HTML Full-Text or PDF Full-Text.  Print the article you have on the screen.

How do I know a website is a good/reliable source?

There is a wealth of information available on the World Wide Web but not all of it is reliable or accurate. You should evaulate the authority, purpose, accuracy, currency, style and functionality of the web resource. Visit the following websites for more information on how to evaluate.

Sonoma State Univeristy Library
Cornell University Library
Duke University Libraries
Wolfgram Memorial Library at Widener University

Use ECC library website and links to online resources available through the web and you can remove suspicion from many resources.
