ECC Library is here to provide the information resources and services that support the professional, educational and recreational pursuits of East Central’s faculty. In addition to friendly, helpful service we provide: course reserves, library research instruction, faculty research assistance, interlibrary loan, and faculty liaisons for collection development. 


Course Reserves

You may place personal or library copies of materials on reserve for student use each semester. These items are located behind the Library Service Desk and have restricted check out periods of 2 hours, 2 days, 1 week or 3 weeks. Reserve materials may include but are not limited to books, DVDs, CDs, journal issues, articles, old exams or lecture notes. Some items may be restricted by Copyright Law , please review the Course Reserve Policy for more information. Accompanying form is available in the Library. Please contact Linda Hall (x6559) to place items on Course Reserve. 


Library Research Instruction

Library Research Instruction is available for classes in the L2Lab (BH 182). Faculty members may arrange for a library research instruction in using the library catalog , online resources , general internet searching and more. Please schedule a few days in advance by contacting Sheila Driemeyer . Instruction tailored to your class is also available. 


Interlibrary Loan

If you cannot find an article or the book you need here at ECC (or through MOBIUS ) we can make a request using Interlibrary Loan. These items are borrowed from other libraries throughout the U.S. and may take 7 to 14 days to arrive at ECC. Please contact Cole Halfaker (x6560) or stop at the service desk for assistance. 


Recommendations for the Collection

Two full-time librarians serve as faculty liaisons for collection development. Recommendations for additions to the collection can be submitted to the faculty liaison in your subject area. Please contact Sheila Driemeyer (x6557) for recommendations in: Nursing, Engineering, Drafting, Hospitality, Theatre, English, Foreign Language, Science, Computers, Math, Business and Accounting. Please contact Lisa Farrell (x6558) for recommendations in: Education, Art, Music, History, Philosophy, Religion, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Physical Education, Sociology and Anthropology. 


Library Research Assignments

Our #1 job is to help your students find the information resources they need. You are encouraged to provide the library with copies of your class research assignments. This will help us provide the best possible assistance to your students.

Faculty Development Collection

The Faculty Development Collection is shelved within our general collection. Topics include curriculum evaluation, classroom management, tests and measurements, student development, etc. The selected items for this collection can be found searching the Archwaycatalog for Faculty Development


Leadership Cadre Collection

Leadership Cadre Collection is shelved within our general collection. Topics covered are organizational leadership and college life. The selected items for this collection can be found searching the Archway catalog for Leadership Cadre


Leisure Reading

This is where you will find current best sellers, as well as other recent fiction and non-fiction including Leisure audiobooks.
