Faculty, staff and students at East Central College did their part to make the holidays brighter for others in the area.

2012 marked the fifth year that the Math, Physics and Engineering Division at ECC adopted a family through Loving Hearts Outreach. Clothes, food and toys were purchased for a family with three children.

In addition, the science department issued a challenge to everyone on campus to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County to assist an area senior citizen who has to move because her home has been condemned. In a week employees raised $1,232.

ECC students also got into the spirit, colleting over 500 cans of food that Falcon athletes took to the Union Food Pantry.

This year the AHERO Club, HIM Club, Allied Health Club, Grant Office employees, Learning Center employees and Student Services staff adopted three ECC families, making the holidays happier for five children.
