Registration for spring semester classes at East Central College is going on now. With many classes rapidly filling and the college closing after December 20, it is important for students to enroll before the holiday break.

“Students who go off to college in the fall often come back to ECC in the spring to take advantage of our affordable tuition and use their A+ benefits from high school," said Cookie Hays, vice president of student development. "We also see people of all ages who have never attended college  using the spring semester to jump start a new career or improve existing job skills."

Hays noted that spring semester classes begin Monday, January 13. She encourages students to contact ECC by December 20 so they can complete the admissions and registration process in plenty of time.

Prior to the holidays, staff in Admissions, Advisement/Counseling, Financial Aid, and Registration on the main campus in Union will be available from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday through December 16.   The Student Service Center will be also open from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. December 17-19.  On Fridays, December 13 and 20, staff will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Cashier’s Office will observe those same hours with the exception of Fridays when they open at 8 a.m.

The ECC Bookstore will be open Monday through Thursday, December 9-12, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. and December 16-19 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Fridays in December the Bookstore is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hays reminds students who are already enrolled that payment is due December 1 6.  "Although students can still apply for financial aid for the spring semester, they will not receive authorization prior to the start of classes," said Hays. "To hold their enrollment, students can pay with cash, check or credit card. We also have a payment plan option to spread the cost out over several months."

Hays encourages new students to complete an application for admission, which can be found online at .

In-district students pay just $8 9 per credit hour for tuition and general fees. The rate for out-of-district students is $1 20 per credit hour. Some courses also have additional lab and technology fees.

The main campus in Union and satellite locations in Rolla, Sullivan, and Washington will reopen Thursday, January 2. For enrollment and assessment information, students can contact ECC at 636-584-6588 or .
