The East Central College music department will present its annual Christmas Celebration concert in two locations this holiday season.

The ECC Choir, Vocal Jazz group and Children’s Chorale will perform off-campus on consecutive Friday nights in December.  Zion United Church of Christ at 115 South Washington Street in Union will be the site of the first concert on Friday, December 6.  That performance will begin at 7 :30 p.m.  On Friday, December 13, the three vocal groups will sing at the First Presbyterian Church at 919 East 10 th Street in Rolla at 7 p.m.

Dr. Timothy Sexton, conductor and artistic director, noted that both performances are free.

“The concert is a mix of sacred and secular favorites,” Sexton said.  “We are taking our inspiration from Dickens A Christmas Carol as we feature selections of Christmas past, present and yet to come.”

Sexton stated that he is excited to have the opportunity to bring East Central’s choral groups to Rolla.  “We appreciate the church making their space available to us,” he said.  “We always enjoy going out into the community to perform and hope residents of Phelps County and our own students from the Rolla area will be able to attend.”
