Tickets are now on sale for East Central College’s October production of the hilarious comedy, Dearly Departed.   This rollicking family comedy follows the story of the Turpin family as they deal with life, death and the hilarious family ties they can’t seem to break.


Performances are set for Friday and Saturday, October 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, October 20 at 2 p.m. in the John Edson Anglin Performing Arts Center on the ECC campus in Union.


Directed by Grace Austin, the cast features several newcomers to the ECC stage: Lexi Huesgen as Lucille, Colten Duncan as Clyde, Christi Mitchell as Juanita, Casi Dixon as Delightful, Maggie Schuey as Nadine and Lee Wehmeyer as Ray.  They will be joined by ECC Theatre veterans Zack Zerna as Royce, Lee Garner as Reverend Hooker, Jake Schultz as Ray-Bud, Carol Buescher as Marguerite, Tara Steffens as Suzanne, Patty Kellmann as Raynelle, Chad Greife as Junior, Heidi Nuckolls as Vera and Shane McDermott as Norval. 


Rounding out the cast are the Joy of Life Singers headed up by Jeremy Bates as Big Tex, Sarah Marsch as Li’l Sadie, Heidi Nuckolls as Dolly, Shane McDermott as Li’l Bubba.  The show also features Josh Mitchell, Barbra Flint, Mary Polston, Jordyn Erwin, Gabe Loazia and Caleb Sankey.


Set design for Dearly Departed is by Chris Swanson, ECC’s new technical director, with lighting design by Josh Turk. Stage managers Anthony Reel and Micheline Bundy round out the creative team.   Dearly Departed was written by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones .


Dearly Departed tickets are available at the ECC Box Office or by calling 636-584-6693.  Tickets can also be purchased online at .  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.  Patrons of the Arts, season pass holders and ECC students are admitted at no charge.
