High school girls searching for a prom dress but lacking the money to purchase one are encouraged to visit East Central College in Union Saturday, February 22, for the Cinderella Project.

From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., more than 400 new and gently worn prom dresses will be available in the ECC Training Center. There is no charge, but there is a limit of one dress per girl.  Some shoes and other accessories will also be available.

This is the second year that ECC’s Student Government Association is sponsoring the event. Last year 120 people attended and about 50 girls selected dresses.  SGA members encourage high school girls to come with friends or their mothers.

As a fundraiser for the Cinderella  Project, there will be a fashion show on Saturday, February 15 at 7 p.m. at the ECC Training Center.  The cost of entry is $5 or six non-perishable food items.  The food will go to the SGA food pantry.  ECC SGA is partnering with Cato’s in Eureka for the attire.
