East Central College will hold a grand opening at its newest location in Rolla Thursday, March 20, from 4 to 6 p.m.  The Rolla North facility is located at 2303 North Bishop Avenue in Rolla.


ECC began offering classes at this second Rolla site in January after remodeling the building last fall.  The 7,900 square foot facility houses classrooms and lab space for the nursing program, three general purpose classrooms, a computer lab, student lounge/study areas and office space for faculty and staff. Faculty and staff will be on hand to answer questions about the enrollment process and class offerings.


“This grand opening will give community members an opportunity to tour our second facility and learn about all of the programs and services ECC offers in Rolla,” said Christina Ayres, director of ECC’s operations in Rolla.  “The College is committed to offering additional classes and programs to further enhance the educational opportunities for the community.” 


This semester 598 students are taking ECC classes in Rolla which accounts for more than 16 percent of ECC’s total enrollment.  The college still operates from its main location in the Rolla Technical Center on Forum Drive.  


East Central College in Rolla offers transfer degrees in general studies, health science and teacher education.  Associate of Applied Science degrees are offered in early childhood education; business /management and technology ; a nd pre-licensure and LPN to RN bridge nursing.  The college also partners with Rolla Technical Center and Rolla Technical Institute to offer a variety of career/technical programs.
