Fitness for Seniors
The Fitness for Seniors class will introduce seniors to a group exercise program that will cover the main components of physical fitness. An individualized exercise program will be developed based on fitness assessments. The class will be offered starting on the fourth week of the fall and spring semesters. This course does not satisfy the college's General Education requirement. Course may be repeated.

Aerobic Dance
This is a physical education physical activity course. An exercise program choreographed and set to music for continuous rhythmic activity. Selected conditioning exercises and dance movements are designed to allow students to work toward improved cardiovascular fitness. May be taken at the beginning, intermediate, or advanced levels. Students will meet with the instructor for 1200 minutes of activity time. This course is a web enhanced course with the equivalent of 300 minutes of on-line work using Moodle.

This is a physical education physical activity course. The course is an introduction to various aquatic fitness class formats. Circuit, interval, shallow and deep water formats will be utilized to effect a cardiovascular training and conditioning response. Water shoes are strongly recommended for the student. Students will meet with the instructor for 1200 minutes of activity time. This course is a web enhanced course with the equivalent of 300 minutes of on-line work using Moodle.

Intro Fitness and Wellness
This is a physical education physical activity course. The course is designed to introduce the student to an exercise program, which combines aerobic training with the benefits of circuit weight training, providing an effective workout for all major muscle groups. Course topics include cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, nutrition, and body composition. Students will meet with the instructor for 1200 minutes of activity time. This course is a web enhanced course with the equivalent of 300 minutes of on-line work using Moodle. The quizzes will be submitted online and graded immediately online. Access to the site will not be permitted after the last day of regular class in the semester. PE

Stress Management
This course explores the nature of stress and the physiological/psychological effects upon the health of the body due to prolonged stress responses. Short and long term somatic and behavioral techniques for applied stress control (i.e. exercise, nutrition, relaxation, visualization, meditation, goal setting and time management) will be examined. Techniques for management of stress will be discussed and practiced. HOT, VAL, SBS

Zumba
This is a physical education physical activity course. A course designed to introduce students to an aerobic dance workout combining Latin inspired dance and music to motivate students throughout the course. Students will be required to complete the on-line Moodle wellness portion for the course to count for one physical education credit. This is a physical education physical activity course. A course designed to provide an opportunity for students to continue to participate in an individualized program of exercise. In addition to aerobic circuit training, students will be instructed in the use of equipment designed to improve cardio-respiratory fitness. Students will meet with the instructor for 1500 minutes of activity time.

PE 1203 3.0
Intro to Sport Management
The course is designed to introduce students to the field of sport management. Students will be exposed to areas of study within the sport management curriculum, which include human resource management, ethics, law, facility management, marketing, economics, finance, and event management. Students will also be introduced to academic and career opportunities in sport management.

Adv Fitness
This is a physical education physical activity course. A course designed to provide opportunities for the student to develop an individual programs of exercise based on the concepts and guidelines for each component of fitness: muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, body composition, and cardio- respiratory endurance. Students will select the exercise programs and establish goals for the components they wish to improve. Students will meet with the instructor for 1500 minutes of activity time.

Yoga
This is a physical education physical activity course. An introductory course designed to introduce students to the basic principles Yoga movements, awareness, breathing and relaxation. Techniques will be incorporated to help release tightness and tensions and develop inner awareness. Students will be lead through a progression of the aforementioned techniques to achieve a higher level of yoga. Students will meet with the instructor for 1200 minutes of activity time. Katy Trail Biking Expedition
This is a physical education physical activity course. A course designed to introduce students to all aspects of bicycling: maintenance, safety, physical demands and etiquette. Students must provide their own bike and safety helmet. Bikes will be inspected for the subsequent rides. The KATY Trail rides will occur during the first two Saturdays of the summer school session. The rides will cover the KATY Trail from St. Charles to Dutzow and from McKittrick to Dutzow. Students will be required to complete a "hold harmless" agreement and adhere to ECC field trip rules and regulations. An additional fee of $35 is required for bus and bike transportation. Students will meet with the instructor for 1200 minutes of activity time. This course is a web enhanced course with the equivalent of 300 minutes of on-line work using Moodle.

Hist & Philos of PE & Sport
This course is designed to provide a working knowledge of the historical and philosophical foundations of physical education and sport. An understanding of the roots of physical education and sport from ancient times to the present will be examined. European influences on the evolution of American sport and physical education will be covered. The application of philosophical viewpoints from different time periods will be compared and contrasted to modern day practices.
