navigate obstacle courses and respond to a multitude of sensors,
including motion, touch and sound. Our students work with the
LEGO Mindstorms base kit to master the programming of basic
movements, and then progress to more difficult challenges. Our
goal is to make science, technology, engineering and mathematics
fun. You must be at least 9 years old to come to this class.

Quick and Easy! This course is for you if you want to attain a
speaking knowledge of the Spanish language. It is perfect if
you've never studied Spanish before or if you're just brushing
up on what you've already know. Communication and comprehension
will be stressed more than grammatical depth. This course will
prove useful if you want to communicate with Spanish speaking
individuals. Each week will focus on a different topic. Examples
include: basic conversational Spanish, vacation and travel, body
parts and healthcare, and ordering at a restaurant. Home study
will be necessary. Text available at ECC Bookstore.

This program is designed to prepare individuals to care for
clients in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home health
agencies. The course will consist of approximately 50 hours of
classroom training, approximately 25 hours of on-line
coursework, and 100 hours of supervised clinical training. Upon
completion of both components, the student will be eligible to
take the final exam to become a Certified Nurse Assistant
through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Students must be 18 years of age at the start of the program.
Student must complete program information packet before
registering. Entry into the program must be approved by Program
Coordinator.

1910.120 for eight hours of annual refresher training for
workers at hazardous waste sites. This course is designed for
general site workers who remove hazardous waste or who are
exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health
hazards. The course is comprised of nine sections covering
topics pertaining to workplace hazards associated with Hazardous
Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER). Topics
include HAZWOPER regulations, site characterization, toxicology,
hazard recognition, personal protective equipment,
decontamination, medical surveillance, confined space entry and
emergency procedures. Upon successful completion,a certificate
of completion will be issued.

Welding Description:
This course provides an introduction to Gas Metal Arc welding
process, also known as MIG welding. Through hands-on
applications, students will reinforce lessons and learn to apply
practical knowledge. This is not a code welding course, however,
students will learn to identify and correct welding problems. As
part of the program curriculum, students will also complete
WorkKeys testing and an OSHA10 certification focusing on welding
safety.

Course Objectives:
. Identify and apply safe welding practices.
. Learn basic welding terminology.
. Demonstrate MIG welding techniques.
. Operate MIG welding equipment to produce sound welds.
. Identify welding defects.
. Demonstrate MIG power sources.
. Discuss types of joints and types of metal transfer.
. Discuss MIG filler materials and shielding gases.
. Demonstrate minor equipment maintenance.

This course takes place at ECC-Washington location in room 223.
