Reading and Writing PLACEMENT GUIDE
Incoming students complete freshman assessment to assist counselors and advisors in placing the students in the appropriate classes. Students who do not test at least at 9th grade level are required to take EN 0103: College Content Reading Skills. All students must complete the Writing Sample and a standardized objective placement test (ACT, ASSET, or Compass) that includes a reading test. Contact ECC's Testing Center if you have not completed these tests. Final placement in writing classes will be determined on the basis of Writing Sample scores.**
