Get Creative with Miguel and Janet – World Patterns

Students will study West African, Celtic, Japanese and Islamic pattern traditions. Projects will include designing Bogolan and Adinkra fabric patterns, drawing Celtic knots used in illuminated manuscripts and calligraphy, copying traditional Kimono and Kamon patterns, and deconstructing Spanish and Moroccan tile patterns. Gain a deeper understanding of design practices applied in an international scope.
