Newborn/Pediatric Nursing: How to Care for Baby 

Do you have a child that is interested in the field of newborn/pediatric Nursing? A child that is expecting a new sibling? Do you have a child that loves babies? Then this would be a great class for them! Ages 5-8.

Students will learn about newborn care from a Pediatric Nurse and one of East Central College’s own Nursing Instructors! In this four-hour class, we will discuss topics that pertain to normal newborn care. Some of the topics that will be discussed include:

  • Changing diapers
  • Swaddling
  • How to change baby’s clothes
  • How to hold baby properly
  • Breastfeeding and bottle feeding
  • How to soothe baby
  • Vaccine education
  • When to call 911

Register at least one week prior to the start of class to avoid class cancellations. Class size is limited.
