Mammals of Missouri

Do you know the difference between a red fox and a gray fox?  How many different kinds of skunks live in Missouri?  What’s the largest rodent in North America?  These are just some of the things you will learn when you attend this program brought to you by the Missouri Department of Conservation and hosted by East Central College.   See if you can identify the pelts of the 14 different species of furbearers that live in Missouri, plus a few other kinds of mammals that share the same habitat.   Believe it or not, many of these animals communicate with various calls and vocalizations out in the wild.   See if you can tell the difference between the sounds that mammals make verses the sounds some birds make.   It’s not as easy as you might think!  So come join us at East Central College this summer and enjoy this interactive program that is sure to peak your interest as we learn about Missouri mammals, and a few birds too. Ages 10-17.
