Junior Welding- Class is Full

Have you heard about welding? Are you interested in the endless possibilities that you can do with it? Here’s your chance to learn about welding and obtain these hands-on welding skills. You will be observing demonstrations, learning safety and welding in a state of the art welding lab, with the ECC Welding instructor. (Ages 13-18)

Gain the skills needed in today’s workplace or use at home!

Register at least one week prior to the start of class to avoid class cancellations. Class size is limited.

Participant will need to wear a pair of ankle-high lace-up boots and blue jeans.
*Registration includes welding jacket, gloves and helmet/face guard will be provided.

Computer Graphic Art- Class is Full

Students will use freeware to edit photos, make logos, design posters, and use a Cricut maker to complete original applications. You will use software, 2-D design fundamentals, digital photography, image manipulation, use of color and typography. Ages 9-18.

Court Is in Session – Cancelled

Join this class to learn about all aspects of the judicial system including the need for a prosecuting attorney, a court-appointed defense lawyer, and about courtroom etiquette including dress and speaking out. There will be a mock trial that is youth-friendly to expose students to all avenues of the judicial system. We will work hand-in-hand with a current judge who will help guide the students through this journey. Ages 15-19.

Junior-All Things You Cannot See – Class is Full

Students will learn to use microscopes to see the invisible world that surrounds us. You will learn about micro-organisms (bacteria, viruses, and other) and have a chance to use scientific equipment. Ages 9 – 13.

Newborn/Pediatric Nursing: How to Care for Baby 

Do you have a child that is interested in the field of newborn/pediatric Nursing? A child that is expecting a new sibling? Do you have a child that loves babies? Then this would be a great class for them! Ages 5-8.

Students will learn about newborn care from a Pediatric Nurse and one of East Central College’s own Nursing Instructors! In this four-hour class, we will discuss topics that pertain to normal newborn care. Some of the topics that will be discussed include:

  • Changing diapers
  • Swaddling
  • How to change baby’s clothes
  • How to hold baby properly
  • Breastfeeding and bottle feeding
  • How to soothe baby
  • Vaccine education
  • When to call 911
