Our mission is to further community education and workforce training, resulting in personal enrichment and industry recognized credentials. At the Center for Workforce Development, we partner with employers to keep them competitive by offering customized training built around their needs.
We provide programs that strengthen employee skills, support certifications including CNA and CMT, and address workforce challenges. We also invest in future talent through K 12 Youth Outreach, helping area youth explore career pathways.
Each year, we support thousands of individuals and businesses across the ECC service region.

Health Care Careers
East Central College’s Center for Workforce Development Health Careers focuses on specific jobs in the healthcare industry. These short-term programs provide students with workforce training to enter the healthcare industry with industry-recognized, state-required certificates. ECC has two short-term programs, Certified Nurse Assistant and Certified Medication Technician.

Youth Outreach
The Center for Workforce Development offers Youth Outreach programs such as ECC Learning Days and the Summer Learning Academy. Registration for 2026 Summer Learning Academy is open now.
