ECC Faculty Recognized by Missouri Community College Association

During the Missouri Community College Association annual convention, held November 6-8 in Kansas City, two ECC faculty members were recognized for their dedication and longevity to East Central College.

Judy Bieker, Interim Nursing Program Coordinator, Union/Associate Professor of Nursing, received the Governor’s Excellence in Teaching Award. The award is presented to an outstanding faculty member from each participating higher education institution in Missouri. Winners are chosen based on effective teaching, effective advising, service to the college community, commitment to high standards of excellence and success in nurturing student achievement.

Dr. William Cunningham, associate professor of sociology, received MCCA’s Senior Service award. Dr. Cunningham has been a fixture at the College since 1993 and was awarded the Governor’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 2015.
