Christine Brewer, named one of the top 20 sopranos of all time (BBC Music), is one of the most celebrated concert singers of our time. She is a Grammy Award-winning American soprano and her appearances in opera, concert, and recital are marked by her own unique timbre — warm and brilliant, combined with a vibrant personality and emotional honesty reminiscent of the great sopranos of the past.

In a remote village, whose name roughly means “a cold place,” this film looks for warmth in encounters. The Ukrainian village of Stuzhytsya is situated in the Carpathian Mountains in the border triangle between Poland and Slovakia. The three elderly female protagonists — a farmer, a post office clerk and a biologist — are firmly rooted in a place where hardly any young people are left in 2019, the year of Volodymyr Zelensky’s election victory. Over time, the film crew also becomes, at least temporarily, a valued part of the village community.

Miguel Espinoza Fusion, world-class musicians Miguel Espinoza, guitar; Dianne Betkowski, cello; and Randy Hoepker, bass, invites the listener into a rich and colorful symposium of musical traditions. Firm roots in flamenco, classical, and jazz are woven through with North African rhythms, Celtic whimsy, and Brazilian expressions for a sound that is transformative, vibrant, and deeply emotive.

The start of a new holiday tradition — grab a cocktail and get ready for something completely zany! The actors get their script 48 hours before the performance — and YOU  decide which character they will play in a hilarious staged reading of Daniel J. Sullivan’s “Inspecting Carol”. You don’t want to miss this amazing tribute to “A Christmas Carol” mixed with “Noises Off” and a dash of Monty Python!
