Beginner Origami Session 3 (Spring 2025)

Course Description

This course provides an introduction to the Japanese technique of paper folding. Students will follow along with the instructor to make origami animals and decorative models. The course will include a history of the origins and international growth of origami, its connections to geometry and mathematics, and its latest technological advances.

Students will learn how to:

  • select appropriate papers for folding projects.
  • fold simple bases that are used in traditional models.
  • interpret and follow printed diagrams to make simple and intermediate skill-level models.
  • apply origami for gift accessories and event decoration.
  • demonstrate origami to younger folders.
