Watermark (Aviso)

Ever wonder where to find the answer to your questions about being successful in college? Watermark (Aviso) is a tool available online and as an app to help you stay on track to complete your college goals. At ECC, you have a team to support you on your journey and Watermark (Aviso) connects you with your team. While instructors are a key asset on your success team, you also have your advisor, your success coach, and tutors who are invested in your success.

How can Watermark (Aviso) help? Watermark (Aviso) can be used to facilitate communication between you and your success team. You, your advisor, and your success coach will get notifications for high and/or low midterm grades, or if your attendance is not where it needs to be successful. You can also use Watermark (Aviso) to set up appointments with your advisor, success coach, and your instructors (if they have activated that feature). Your advisor, financial aid, success coach, and instructor may also send you tasks that need to be completed. For instance, if you are eligible for a scholarship, your advisor might send you a task with a link to complete the application.

Within Watermark (Aviso), you also have the option to view your class schedule, monitor your attendance, check your midterm grades, and see the names of your advisor, success coach, and instructors as well as many other features. If you download the app – it is easy to make an appointment or email any member of your team without needing to search for contact information. We are all a click away!

You can download the Watermark (Aviso) App to get notifications and easy access to your schedule, advisor, and success coach. You can also access Watermark (Aviso) at https://eastcentral.avisoapp.com. Any communication sent through Watermark (Aviso) will also be sent to your school email and if selected by the sender, your personal email.

If you get a notification for an A or B at midterm, congratulate yourself on a job well done and keep on with strong work! If you get a notification that you have a C or below, it is time to take action. Speak to your instructor, success coach, and advisor to see how you can improve your grade.

Your instructors can also make referrals to the Learning Center/Success Center, counseling, financial aid, career services, or advising if they see you may benefit from any of these resources.

Think about this scenario: if you spill milk do you

  1. Dump the rest out because you have screwed up and there is no use trying to fix things now.
  2. Be happy because you have half a glass left and just hope you don’t make the same mistake, leaving the spilled milk for someone else.
  3. Take action, clean up the mess, then take steps to ensure you don’t spill anymore.

Hopefully you answered C! Your advisor or success coach is there to support you in taking the steps to succeed in your coursework. When we reach out, respond and know you are not alone. We all stumble on our way to our goals; it is how you react that makes all the difference between success and failure.
