Joannie Blakely

Congratulations to Joannie Blakely, the April Faculty of the Month. Joannie works in the Allied Health Division teaching first year nursing at the Rolla Campus. She is also the program coordinator for the RN program in Rolla. Fellow nursing faculty in Rolla would like to see her recognized for her service and helpfulness to her coworkers and her students.

Joannie has worked for East Central for six years and serves on the Portfolio and Credentialing committee. Previous to teaching, she worked as a nurse in Allergy and Immunology Clinic and in an Intensive Care Unit. She has three children who keep her active with their involvement in a variety of sports. She enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. Her favorite snacks are sea salt chocolate caramels and coffee. She is proud of her ability to step in and help fellow faculty during busy times of the semester and enjoys being helpful and supportive.

Joannie has been nominated by her coworkers because she goes above and beyond for students and coworkers. She volunteers to complete extra group work so that newer faculty can focus on teaching. She works with students and helps them find resources that help them learn and succeed in the classroom. Those who work with Joannie appreciate her thoughtfulness and willingness to help others.
