Julie Chirban

Congratulations to Julie Chirban, our November faculty of the month! 

Julie is a full-time nursing instructor at the Rolla location. She is being recognized this month because of inspiring dedication to her students and fellow faculty. Julie has been nominated for her innovation in the classroom and her ability to successfully run a “flipped classroom.” Students love how positive and uplifting she is and her passion for teaching.

Julie started working for ECC in 2018 as an adjunct and then was hired as a full-time instructor. She loves Cherry Coke and Purple Skittles. She is also a dedicated runner and wakes up early in the morning to run. Before working at ECC she worked on the Labor and Delivery Unit at Phelps Health in Rolla. On the Labor and Delivery Floor she worked to educate new parents. Now she teaches students how to be good nurses.

When asked what she is proud of, she says she loves seeing her students succeed and encountering her former students in her clinicals. She loves to see former students help teach current students. She is excited watching students have those “light bulb” moments when they realize how to apply in clinicals what they learned in the classroom.
