Junior Welding (2) – CLASS IS FULL

Have you heard about welding? Are you interested in the endless possibilities that you can do with it? Here’s your chance to learn about welding and obtain these hands-on welding skills. You will be observing demonstrations, learning safety and welding in a state of the art welding lab, with the ECC Welding instructor. (Ages 13-18)

Gain the skills needed in today’s workplace or use at home!

Hogwarts Literature and Wizardry – CLASS IS FULL

Receive your acceptance to 2023 Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry camp. Come explore the subjects that Harry Potter studied at Hogwarts. Join us as we visit the amazing world of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and of course the infamous You Know Who! Learn proper wand techniques, how to mix potions, and properly play the game of Quidditch. Ages 9 -15.

Cardboard Sculpture – CLASS IS FULL

Students will use recycled cardboard to build small and full-scale sculptures. Processes will include planning, modeling, assembly, and finishing. You will practice planning, testing methods, study of structural form, spatial imagination, synthesis of shapes, and decorative media. Ages 9-18.

It’s Your Bag!

Students will construct several projects using basic sewing methods. This is an opportunity to use a sewing machine to straight stitch will be provided. Students wills also explore embellishment methods such as embroidery, felt art, bead application and more. This class will be fun and enriching for ages 10 – 14.

WEDO Robotics – CLASS IS FULL

This summer course is designed to teach beginning robotics students how to experiment with the application of simple machines in a robotic environment. Each student will be assigned his/her own WEDO LEGO robot to use. Participants will learn the core concepts of robot design and WEDO programming. This program is designed for the students who love to tinker and build things that move. Our goal is to make science, technology, engineering and mathematics irresistibly FUN. Brought to you by Kaleidoscope Discovery Center. Ages 6-9.

Animal Portraiture – CLASS IS FULL

Students will learn the fundamentals and basics of drawing realistic animal portraits using just colored pencils. You will learn shading, the process of drawing fur, and color theory. You will also learn to apply a detailed understanding of animal anatomy and proportions to make your drawings as lifelike as possible. Students will need to bring a high quality printed photo of their favorite animal. Ages 12-18.

Beyond the Board: Tabletop Game Design – CLASS IS FULL

An exploration of game theory and tabletop game design. We will talk about game balance, challenge level, and explore cooperative vs competitive games. We will prototype a game as a team and then playtest it. Ages 9-18.

Students will make a variety of projects in the world of clay. Projects may include but are not limited to pinch pots, slab cups and “spirit animals.” Choice of shape, texture, color and more are up to the individuals. Ages 11 – 14.
