Writing Bridge (ENG 050)

In this Writing Bridge description, get to know more about the course and the Learning Center Specialist facilitating the upcoming summer section.

Summer Writing (ENG 050) Bridge

In the Summer Writing Bridge, we start by exploring mindsets and habits to approach reading and writing successfully and reflect on our own practices as Readers/Writers.

Students will take on the writing process, breaking it into progressive steps of exploration, from beginning to draft, examining a first draft and getting feedback, to revising and making changes.

As students write, we explore writing strategies, practice support skills, and work together to create a final piece as a model for a diagnostic essay in a college-level writing course.

Meet June Thebeau

Learning Center Specialist – Writing

I’m a writer and lifelong learner with a background in film and television. While working in film, I actively mentored students who wanted to improve their craft and break into the industry. This is how I found my true passion for helping students find their unique voices and achieve their academic and professional goals.

I spend my free time watching movies, reading, playing video games, hiking, going to pro wrestling shows, trying interesting new foods, and hanging out with my two dogs and three cats. I’m currently working on finishing my first novel. I’m also an ECC alum, this school holds a special place in my heart.
