Summer Writing Bridge (ENG 050)

In this Writing Bridge description, get to know more about the course and the Learning Center Specialist facilitating the upcoming summer section.

Summer Writing (ENG 050) Bridge

In this Summer Writing Bridge we start by exploring mindsets and habits to approach reading and writing successfully and reflect on our own practices as Readers/Writers.

Students will take on the writing process, breaking it into progressive steps of exploration, from beginning to draft, examining a first draft and getting feedback, to revising and making changes.

As students write, we explore writing strategies, practice support skills, and work together to create a final piece as a model for a diagnostic essay in a college-level writing course.

Learning Center Specialist - Writing

I love working with people to achieve their goals because it brings people together, helps everyone in those collaborative moments grow, and shows us all that we need (and thrive with) support.

As an instructor for over a decade, I’ve brought that collaborative learning perspective to subjects I’m passionate about, teaching courses in Composition, Communication, Literature and Theatre, specifically on Shakespeare, Absurdist drama, and Greek theatre.

MA in English and PBACC in Literature from Western Illinois University.

BA in English and History from Culver-Stockton College.
