TLC Tutoring Cancellation Policy


The Learning Center LogoAll students utilizing the services of TLC agree to abide by these policies and agree to the consequences of policy violations as indicated below. To cancel an appointment, call the TLC main desk at (636) 584-6688. If no one answers, the LC has a voice message system; please leave your cancellation notice through this messaging system. You may also cancel by email at general_tutoring@eastcentral.edu, or by using our Chat button on the main Learning Center webpage.

No Shows

  • Three No Call, No Shows to tutoring sessions are no longer allowed to make subsequent appointments for that semester; however, students may still utilize drop-in appointments (subject to tutor availability). Appointment-making privileges will be restored at the beginning of the following semester.

Same Day Cancellations

  • Students are advised to cancel their tutoring sessions within 24 hours of their appointment time. TLC recognizes that sometimes 24 hours’ notice isn’t possible; however, three appointments canceled the same day as the scheduled session will also result in no longer being allowed to make subsequent appointments for that semester. Students may still utilize drop-in appointments (subject to tutor availability). Appointment-making privileges will be restored at the beginning of the following semester.

Late Arrivals

  • Students arriving 15 minutes or more past their scheduled start time will be considered as “No Call, No Shows,” and tutors are no longer required to meet with students past their appointment time; however, if the tutor is still available, they may do so at their discretion.

**A combination of three “No Call, No Shows” or “Same Day Cancellations” will also result in no longer being allowed to make subsequent appointments for that semester; however, students may still utilize drop-in appointments (subject to tutor availability). Appointment-making privileges will be restored at the beginning of the following semester.
