Pre-Apprenticeship Program


Our pre-apprenticeship program is designed to provide job-seeking or current employees with basic job skills to prepare them to enter the workforce or enhance their current job skills.

Pre-Apprenticeship FAQs

Depending on the industry and the individual, a pre-apprenticeship program will take 6 to 8 weeks to complete. We will have pre-apprenticeships in Manufacturing and Health Care. Contact us for other industry opportunities.

A participant learns the basic job skills and training using curriculum based on industry standards, as well as receiving hands-on experience that simulates the work performed in a registered apprenticeship, while observing proper supervision and safety protocols.

Manufacturing Pre-apprenticeship

A new hire and a high school graduate will learn resume writing, goal setting, workplace skills, basic math skills, basic shop safety, workplace exposure and Introduction to Lean Manufacturing.

A current employee will learn Introduction to Manufacturing processes, shop math, goal setting, team dynamics and Introduction to Lean Manufacturing.

A 17 year old and younger will learn resume writing, goal setting, workplace skills, basic math skills, basic shop safety, workplace exposure and Introduction to Lean Manufacturing.

Safety (OSHA 10), blueprint reading and Introduction to Manufacturing,

A participant will learn important job skills to prepare them for an introductory position with a company. A pre-apprenticeship will prepare individuals to meet the entry requirements and succeed in a registered apprenticeship program with a business.

Until May 2022, the program will be provided to the participant at no cost. Funding could also be available for the eligible participants to offset the cost of day care, transportation or program supplies.
