Classified Staff Association

Message from the CSA President

We still need:

  • Need a volunteer for the MCCA Planning Committee. Please email Denise Walker if interested.
  • Need one more volunteer for the Celebrate CSA committee. If you like parties, this is the committee for you!
  • If you are interested in Professional Development planning, please let Amy DeMiere know.
  • Need ideas on how committees/departments can share monthly information with associations or the campus as a whole. Please email Denise Walker with any ideas you may have.

The Classified Staff Association comprises approximately 100 hourly employees across campus who aim to promote professionalism, ethics, and excellence among members while enhancing the welfare of students, employees, and the community through various initiatives, including awards, events, charity drives, and scholarships. It fosters cooperation with the college, provides representation, facilitates continuous learning, advocates for members on professional matters, and promotes camaraderie among its members.

This page will be your go-to resource for CSA updates, including volunteer opportunities on committees, upcoming fundraisers and events, spotlight awards, professional development prospects, and much more.

The mission of the Spotlight Award is to recognize a classified staff member each semester who has gone above and beyond their role at East Central College.  They are nominated and then elected by votes from ECC employees for their commitment to excellence for the betterment of students, faculty, and staff.

Spring 2025 Recipient Jules Parham

Jules joined ECC nearly two years ago, and since then, his contributions have been countless. He’s become essential to the IT department and the ECC community, taking initiative on projects at every level. His dedication to assisting students and staff with all things tech is truly valued. Your hard work and commitment don’t go unnoticed. Thank you, Jules, for everything you do!
