Experience Earth’s Surface

Experience Earth’s Surface through watersheds and topographic maps! In Day 1 of this class, we will discover what a watershed is and its relationship to human and environmental health. On Day 2, we will expand on our watershed lesson by exploring how to read, create, and apply topographic maps to understand our landscape. This class will feature plenty of hands on (sometimes messy!) activities to strengthen the lesson, like creating your own watershed model and creating a topographic map out of foam. (Ages 9-12)
