Discover Nature Fishing

Come join us to learn fishing basics.

Equipment, Casting and Proper Fish Handling combines instruction with hands-on fishing to teach young anglers and families basic fishing techniques and skills. Participants will learn how to properly and safely cast a spincast fishing rod, parts of a fishing rod, how to fasten basic fishing tackle and how to properly handle and release a fish. (Ages 15-18)

Fishing equipment and bait/lures will be provided.

All participants 16 years-of-age and older must present a current fishing permit before fishing. Fishing permits can be purchased at https://mdc-web.s3licensing.com/ or through our MO Fishing app.

Register at least one week prior to the start of class to avoid class cancellations. Class size is limited.

Experience Earth’s Surface 3

Students will learn about watershed function, topographic maps, and ecosystem health using an interactive augmented reality sandbox. As students play with the sand, the topography of the sand’s surface is projected on to it and will update as they create new landscapes. Students will understand how to read and create topographic maps. They will learn about watershed, topographic influence on water movement, and how environmental factors impact overall watershed health. (Ages 13-18)

ECC Youth Theatre Troupe 2

Students will participate in activities that sharpen their acting and improvisational skills. They will also be introduced to the rehearsal process and learn what it looks like to put a show together. Students will gain experience in areas such as projection, memorization, blocking, stage directions, characterization, reading script subtext, and other techniques that will give them a solid foundation of theatre education and performance skills. All of this hard work will be showcased in a production where students will display their talents! Invite your friends and family to watch on Friday, August 9th. (Ages8 – 12 years)

Picture Yourself As A Nurse 2

This summer is the time to explore the field of nursing and our nursing camp is a great way to get started! Learn the qualities of a nurse, basic nursing skills, first aid, CPR training, and much more! Learn these skills from Professional Registered Nurses. Ages 12-16.

Cheerleading

Cheer camp is designed for boys and girls ages 6-10 to learn a few basics. The class will cover motions, jumps, tumbling, and stunting. Participants will learn a new cheer each day that they can perform for family members. Safety for tumbling and stunting will also be taught as well as technique on jumps and motions! (Ages 6-10)

Video Game Design 2

Do you think you might like to be a programmer?  Come learn how to make computer games for your computer or your Android device.  Various programs will be explored. This is a beginner’s course. Ages 9 – 13 years
