Culinary Arts-Pizza from Scratch 2

This class will learn to make their own dough for their pizza. Students will add sauce along with other toppings of their choice to make the perfect pizza as they imagine. Students will be able to taste their wonderful creations at the pizza party at the end of the class!  (Subject to slight changes.) Ages 13-18.

Students will aid in kitchen clean-up before being dismissed.

NO FLIP FLOPS! Students, please wear tennis shoes.

Picture Yourself a Surgical Technologist

Students will learn different surgical technology tasks, the operating room environment, and the different roles in the operating room. (Ages 8-16)

Students will meet firefighters from the Union Fire Protection District, learn about fire safety and learn about possible careers as a firefighter. Parents can stay with students. Ages 5 – 8.

American Sign Language 1

Students will learn about the Deaf Culture and the basics of American Sign Language. Students will practice signs and facial expressions to help communicate. Students will be able to communicate with a deaf person. Ages 5-8.

Cardboard Sculpture

Students will use recycled cardboard to build small and full-scale sculptures. Processes will include planning, modeling, assembly, and finishing. They will practice study of structural form, spatial imagination, synthesis of shapes, and decorative media. Ages 9-18.

ECC Youth Theatre Troupe 1

Students will participate in activities that sharpen their acting and improvisational skills. They will also be introduced to the rehearsal process and learn what it looks like to put a show together. Students will gain experience in areas such as projection, memorization, blocking, stage directions, characterization, reading script subtext, and other techniques that will give them a solid foundation of theatre education and performance skills. All of this hard work will be showcased in a production where students will display their talents! Invite your friends and family to watch on Friday, August 2nd. (Ages 8 – 12 years)

Holidays, Who Knew?

Holidays are celebrated all over the world! Students will explore and learn about two holiday origins per class. Small crafts will be created to commemorate each holiday. This is a “use your brain” and “hands-on” class! (Ages 8-14)

WEDO Robotics 

This summer course is designed to teach beginning robotics students how to experiment with the application of simple machines in a robotic environment. Each student will be assigned his/her own WEDO LEGO robot to use. Participants will learn the core concepts of robot design and WEDO programming. This program is designed for the students who love to tinker and build things that move. Our goal is to make science, technology, engineering and mathematics irresistibly FUN. Brought to you by Kaleidoscope Discovery Center. Ages 6-9.
