HESI RN-A2 Registration
This test is required for possible entrance into the Registered Nursing Program and the LPN to RN Bridge program.
Step 1: Create an account on the Evolve website
New Users Only. You only need to create an account once.
- Go to http://evolve.elsevier.com/exam.
- Click Register.
- On the next page, scroll to the bottom and click Checkout/Redeem.
- Enter all required information to create an account and click continue.
- On the next page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue “Submit” button.
*This does not provide a valid receipt number. Proceed to step 2 to pay the exam fee.
*Evolve will email you a new assigned username which you will use on test day (you will not use your email).
Step 2: Pay the exam fee

- HESI RN-A2: $65
There are two options for paying the exam fee:
- Payment in person can be made to Financial Services on the Union Campus or the Student Services Office on the Rolla Main Campus. Cash and major credit cards are accepted. The cashier will issue you a paper receipt.
- Payment by telephone can be made by calling (636) 584-6739. Major credit cards are accepted. The cashier will provide you with the receipt number.
The exam fee covers a single attempt only. Applicants who wish to make a second attempt must pay a second exam fee.
Step 3: Schedule your exam
Once you have paid the exam fee, you can schedule an appointment to take the test using our online form.
Testing must be completed by: December 1, 2025

You will need to provide the following information (all fields are required):
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Exam (A2 or Mobility)
- Attempt (1st or 2nd within current testing cycle)
- Test session (selected from available dates/times)
- Exam fee receipt number
Step 4: Take your test
On your test day, feel free to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time to check-in.
Bring the following items with you:
- Photo ID. Examples include:
- Driver license or state identification card
- Passport book or card
- Military ID
- Student ID
- Your Elsevier assigned username (this new username is sent in an email after you created your account-this is not your email) and self-created password.
The Testing Center will supply scratch paper. The calculator is built into the program.
Please familiarize yourself with the Testing Center Rules and the List of Prohibited Items and Activities before coming to the Testing Center.
Step 5: After testing
For results and remediation
- Go to evolve.elsevier.com
- Log in with your username and password
- Select “HESI Assessment Student Access”
- Select “My Exams”
